  • Avoid the Infected at all costs
  • No votes, sabotages, reports, or Emergency Meetings
  • Do tasks to earn unique power ups
  • Finish all of your tasks and win
  • The Infected win once the entire crew is turned into Infected

  • Vanish: Turn invisible for a short time
  • Vent: Use the vents one time
  • Protect: Shield a teammate, protecting them from one attack
  • Scan: See where The Infected are on your map and which direction they are facing
  • Zap: Temporarily stun an Infected

  • For the Infected
    • Ambush Predation via Acoustic Concealment: It has been noted that the Infected specimen achieves a higher success rate by forgoing rapid locomotion in favor of a deliberate, slower gait. This practice allows the entity to approach its targets without the auditory cues that typically signal danger.
  • For the Crewmates
    • The Porcupine's Dilemma of Social Proximity: Crewmate subjects demonstrate a marginal increase in survival when clustering in small groups to leverage their collective observation and defensive zap and shield capabilities. Yet, they must maintain enough distance to mitigate the risk of a single Infected specimen causing a cascade contagion event. A simple, almost instinctual, risk-reward calculation.
    • Non-Euclidean Traversal for Maximized Labor Efficiency: The aforementioned use of the vents appears to be a cornerstone of effective Crewmate strategy. Rather than using them simply for panicked egress, the proficient player utilizes them to navigate the map with an efficiency that borders on the chaotic, completing disparate tasks with bewildering speed to accumulate their technological trinkets.

  • Infected have a short cooldown after they Infect a Crewmate. Use this opportunity to run past them
  • All vents are in Tag Mode are connected...use them to cover a ton of distance quickly
  • Use your scan, then plan your path in advance to get to your next task and power-up
  • Walk as The Infected to mask your squishy footsteps and maximize the jump scares
  • Make the game yours. Use custom lobby settings to change up speed, cooldown, number of tasks to win, and the number of starting Infected
