The event runs from March 3 to March 6, 2013, and takes place at the Peabody Hotel in Orlando, Florida. In his talk \u201cThe Pleasure Revolution: What Gamification Means for Your Business\u201d Schell will discuss the different ways \u201cgamification\u201d can be used to reinterpret and improve business processes. Gamification is defined as the application of game mechanics in a non-game context in order to engage users and solve problems. Jesse Schell is the CEO of Schell Games, a leader in transformational games and the largest video game studio in Pennsylvania. He also serves as Distinguished Professor of the Practice of Entertainment Technology at Carnegie Mellon University. Jesse has worked on a wide variety of innovative game and simulation projects for both entertainment and education, and is lauded for his award-winning book The Art of Game Design: A Book of Lenses. He is a former chair of the International Game Developers Association, and in 2004 he was named one of the world\u2019s Top 100 Young Innovators by MIT Technology Review. Before starting his own company, Jesse was the Creative Director of the Walt Disney Imagineering Virtual Reality Studio. Early in his career, he worked as writer, director, performer, juggler, comedian, and circus artist for both Freihofer\u2019s Mime Circus and the Juggler\u2019s Guild.
