Daniel Tiger's Neighborhood Ride is a location-based attraction located at Idlewild Park & SoakZone in Ligonier, Pennsylvania. Developed in collaboration with Fred Rogers Productions, the ride is a reimagining of the historic "Olde Idlewild" trolley, transformed into an immersive journey through the world of the hit PBS KIDS series Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood. Schell Games provided the creative direction and interactive design to ensure the ride captured the "Play with a Purpose" philosophy of Fred Rogers. Passengers board the iconic red trolley to visit familiar Neighborhood locations and interact with animatronic versions of Daniel and his friends, emphasizing social-emotional lessons and community connection.

- What is the history of this attraction?
- The ride is a total transformation of the park’s classic trolley ride, which originally featured Mister Rogers. When the Daniel Tiger television series debuted as the animated successor to Mister Rogers' Neighborhood, the park partnered with Schell Games and Fred Rogers Productions to modernize the ride for a new generation of children.
- How do passengers interact with the ride?
- The ride is designed as a "living story." As the trolley moves along its track, passengers are encouraged to sing along to familiar strategy songs and wave to characters. Unlike high-thrill rides, this is a slow-moving, narrative experience focused on observation and engagement.
- What locations from the show are featured?
- The trolley stops at several iconic landmarks, including: Daniel’s Clock Factory home. The Museum-Go-Round. The Castle. The Treehouse.
- Does the ride include original audio?
- Yes. To maintain authenticity, the ride features original voice acting and music from the television series, ensuring that children recognize their favorite characters' voices and the lessons they teach.
- Who is the target audience?
- The ride is built for families with preschool-aged children. It serves as a "first theme park experience" for many toddlers, offering a gentle, recognizable, and safe environment that mirrors the calm pacing of the TV show.
- Is there a "transformational" goal for this ride?
- Yes. Like the mobile apps and TV episodes, the ride aims to reinforce prosocial behavior. It encourages children to be kind neighbors, practice gratitude, and understand the importance of community, turning a simple amusement park ride into a lesson in emotional intelligence.
